THE DEVELOPER

In 1993, the developer of Cougar Canyon was looking to leave the hustle and bustle of city life in search of a better quality of life for their growing family. Raised in northwestern Montana, he explored ranches there as well as Wyoming and Colorado.

He found exactly what he was looking for: a high quality of life with a low cost of living, in Trinidad, Colorado, a small town community with its own unique charm and a strong potential for growth. He purchased a ranch east of town where he enjoyed the sunrise above the vast plains and the sunset over the majestic Rocky Mountains to the west. The area offered limitless recreational opportunities for his family to enjoy, from hiking, fishing, skiing, hunting, horseback riding, and the unmatched splendor of the wildlife and fauna of the vicinity. Only in a few places can you take a ride and view a baby antelope within minutes of your home. He also discovered that it was very easy to get to many places and cities from Trinidad, as well as a very mild year round climate.

Upon first arriving into town, the family had difficulty finding a place to build a home close to town. In his pursuit to fill this need for others, he developed two neighborhoods Pinion Terrace and Emerald Vista Estates. The homes in these neighborhoods are the most sought after in the area.

Cougar Canyon is part of his original ranch. His vision was to share this find with others like him. In his quest to perfect his vision he has compiled an experienced team of developers from Aspen, San Diego, and Denver. This group includes Amerigolf Holdings, who has successfully developed Redlands Mesa Golf Club and Deer Creek at Meadow Ranch, along with Silver Ridge Investments, which among their many developments in Aspen includes Peaks at Aspen Glen and the Timbers Club at Snowmass. The partnership has designed an unrivaled community that connects the small town quality of life, all the modern amenities of a resort with the backdrop of a spectacular Colorado lifestyle.
